About Kim

Kim Pollok joined SWBC on December 31st, 2010, the same afternoon her previous employer closed its doors and she finished helping 2,000 employees find new jobs. The role SWBC offered was entry level, $10,000 below her salary, and she took it the same day without hesitating. She had two young kids at home, no college degree, and no better certainty than the people on the other end of the phone. From there, she said yes to everything she didn’t know how to do, led the acquisition that created SWBC’s PEO division, earned her degree from the University of the Incarnate Word, and eventually became CEO. Today SWBC Payroll + HR serves businesses from 5 to 7,000 employees across 42 states, and Kim still shows up at chamber events in Round Rock because she genuinely wants to be there.

In Her Own Words

“Stop collecting dead birds. You don’t allow people to just give you their problem without some solutions, because you can’t do anything with it.”

Kim Pollok, CEO, SWBC Payroll + HR

“You’re not going to build a relationship with AI. Our business is built on relationships, not transactional. That will never change.”

Kim Pollok, CEO, SWBC Payroll + HR

“Saying yes almost every time, even when I had no idea what I was doing, that’s what led to the different promotions.”
