When Bryan Eisenberg sat down with Isaac Marquez-Diaz on the Rock Solid podcast, he came with a selfish question. As co-owner of A Place at Home – North Austin, a home care franchise serving seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, Bryan had always heard from franchise coaches that veterans make the best employees. The problem was finding them. Turns out, the answer has been right here in Round Rock the whole time.
Isaac is the Veteran Employer Liaison for the Texas Veterans Commission, based at the Workforce Solutions of Williamson County office just around the corner from the studio. His job is to connect veterans looking for work with employers looking for great talent. And here is the part that stops most business owners cold: every single thing he does is free.
No contract. No pitch. No catch. The state funds it. Isaac said when he first started the role it was genuinely hard to explain because people kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. There is no other shoe.
What you get is access to WorkInTexas.com, the state job matching platform where you post positions for free, plus help translating military resumes (a sergeant is a manager, a commander is a director), invitations to job fairs including the statewide Hiring Red, White and You series, and custom employer showcase events where you present your openings directly to veterans. And if you needed one more reason to pick up the phone, Isaac was just named the 2026 Local Veterans Employment Representative of the Year by The American Legion. That is a national award. Round Rock has a nationally recognized veteran employment advocate working out of an office down the street. Use him.
